Martin Kromer
Germany

Martin came into contact with square dancing for the first time in 1990 and immediately decided not to do something like this himself in the foreseeable future… In September 1990, he attended his first Open House in Schwäbisch Hall. In July 1991, he was already behind the microphone to present three singing calls to a few hard-boiled square dancers. After the first sequence of figures, the whole hall was ready. This is not how he had imagined his “debut”.

The subsequent visit to several caller schools had an effect: in the meantime, he dances more than he stands. In his more than 20 years as a caller, he was a club caller with the Very Hot Square Dancers in Oberndorf/Neckar for 15 years and a club caller with the Stuttgart Strutters for 16 years.

Martin is calling today for the Schwäbisch Sweethearts in Schwäbisch Hall and the Castle Ghosts in Leingarten. Martin is a member of Callerlab and ECTA, where he served as Vice-President and President from 1997 to 2000.

Since 2013, Martin has been intensively involved in the training of callers and is a staff member at the School of Caller Education and Leadership Development. In July 2017, he passed the accreditation process to become a Callerlab Accredited Caller Coach.
